1920’s-40’s
Northwood emerged as one of West Palm Beach’s first neighborhood commercial centers, serving local residents with shops, services, and community gathering spots.


1950’s–70’s
Growth in surrounding neighborhoods fuels the district, though shifts in retail trends lead to periods of decline.


1980’s-90’s
Artists and independent businesses begin moving in, sparking grassroots revitalization and a new cultural identity.


2000’s
The West Palm Beach CRA invests in infrastructure, storefront improvements, and incentive programs to support business growth.


2010’s
Northwood gains recognition as a destination for dining, arts, and boutique retail, attracting locals and visitors alike.


Today
Known as “Historically Hip,” Northwood Village is celebrated as a thriving district where history, culture, and opportunity come together.
